Not much is known of the Ash'man as this group of male channelers has just been formed under the leadership of the Lord Dragon al'Thor.Their name, Asha'man, in the old tongue means "guardian" or "defender". Their structure is similar to that of the Aes Sedai as there are three different ranks. The first rank is called "Soldier".  They are called this because they are there for the purpose of fighting the Dark One.  Once the channeler is at a certain skill level they are promoted to "Dedicated".  Dedicated are given a pin in the shape of a sword.  Once they reach another skill level they will be raised to Asha'man.  Asha'man are given a a gold and red dragon to wear. Unlike in the White Tower, the male channelers don't have to go through any tests to be promoted, they are promoted when the leaders think that they are ready.  Their leader is Rand al'Thor, but as he cannot always be at the black tower he appointed Mazrim Taim as their acting leader.
